...and that's when he shot it.

For a short period of time, I worked in a large retail establishment known for selling overpriced consumer electronics.  In this establishment, I worked amongst a set of computer geeks repairing computers.  I came in one day in mid-November to hear a co-worker uttering the phrase "...and that's when he shot it."  Of course, intrigued by the story, I asked "shot what?"

How not to be a hockey fan

Every sport has their fans, and those fans act differently than each other.  You'll never see a Tennis fan jump up and yell something idiotic to the 'other' player.  You'll never see a bunch of guys half naked that spell 'Pittsburgh RulZ' standing in the crowd at a Marathon.  My point is that every sport fan has a different way to express him or herself at a game.  Sports enthusiasts boast of the 'home team advantage'.  That advantage coming in small part from playing at home, on familiar ground.  For the most part, however, it is the fans that help to drive their home team to victory.  They cheer, they taunt, they stand, they wince, they boo.  In all, they help give confidence to their team.

Unless you live in Philadelphia.

Top 6 BS statistics you probably believe in

I have been telling people to stop believing in the "10% of your brain" statistic for years, but nobody believes me.  I was told in class that it was first started when scientists began using cat scans on active brains, while people were laying perfectly still, in a long giant tube, with almost zero sensory input.  Those scientists where surprised to find that the brain wasn't doing much of anything, and that somehow got interpreted as 'you only use 10% of your brain...look here...".

Finally.... got ZoneMinder working on SATAN again

so... the web cams are back, and working.  Expect to see something fun with the motion detection and the YardCam/OtherCAM pretty soon.  The system automatically makes mgeg movies of motion when it detects it, and I always wanted to make those mpegs available.  Especially for the dogbowl cam...

OS reload.... Again!

So... for some reason, I got bored, and decided that it'd be a good idea to reload SATAN again.  This time, I've migrated from FreeBSD 7.0 to Debian Linux.

More to come...
